Car Talk (Part 2), Two gigs, and New CD Update!

Hi folks!

1. I’m very happy to say that Lou the Ford Taurus is now safely back in the great state of Vermont, no worse for wear. I, however, after a 16-hour driving marathon through VT, NY, DE, and MD, am STILL quite tired.

2. Two gigs this weekend:

Friday, June 26, 2009- 6:00 PM
Iron Lantern Restaurant
272 Rt. 4A W.,
Castleton, VT 05735
With Gary Moon on percussion, guitar, and vocals!

Saturday, June 27, 2009 – 12:30 PM
Reed-Swale Folk Festival
Fantastic little folk festival in the backyard of a fantastic singer-songwriter, Liz Reed-Swale!
9 Riverview Rd.
Rocky Hill, CT
Featuring: Ed Chiucariello, Bonnie Lee Panda, Marc Douglas Berardo, Kala Farnham, Coulda Woulda Shoulda, Mighty Purple
I’ll be joined by BOTH Gary Moon on percussion and vocals, and Jeff Kimball on accordion, mandolin, and vocals

3. I spent a couple of days at Such A Voice studio in Shelburne recording vocals with engineer/producer (and good friend) Brendan Coyle! The new CD is on schedule, and is coming out great! I can’t wait to share it with you!

That’s all for now! Signing out,
Phil

Car Talk

So this is what happened to my wife and I this past weekend, six hours from home…

FlatbedMD

My usually quite reliable buddy, a 2006 Ford Taurus named Lou, decided not to start back up again at the Maryland House rest stop near Aberdeen, Maryland. On our way, spontaneously, to the final Lowen and Navarro concert at the Birchmere in Virginia, we suddenly found ourselves stranded for four days.

Thank goodness for the kindness of our friends Aaron and Debra Nathans, and for my extended warranty… I’m back in VT now, with a rental car (enjoying some satellite radio), and trying to psych myself up for ANOTHER trip to Maryland this weekend to pick up my car!

But first! I’ll be playing a new venue for me, in my old stomping grounds! If you live around Saranac Lake or Lake Placid, NY, please stop by the Mirror Lake Inn!

Friday, June 12, 2009 – 7:00 PM
Bistro at Mirror Lake Inn
Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa
77 Mirror Lake Drive
Lake Placid, New York 12946
518-523-2544

Happy motoring!
